Genesis 11:1-9

The world had one language, one common speech. A tower was devised which to heaven would reach. The people, they sought a name for themselves. Against our God the people rebelled. The Lord He saw their evil plans And scattered them across many lands. Their languages God also did scramble. The land, therefore, was then known as Babel.
